RIBBON BEAR PATTERN for Baby Gift
In the past, I have put ribbon tags on the side seams of bears that I made, or I extended the ribbons from the arms and legs, but I don't really like the way that looks. (See above image.) So, I decided to modify the pattern even more by creating a waist seam. If there's a seam at the waist, then the bear-maker has many options available to them. They can use ribbon tags or make the top (bodice) and bottom (legs) from different colors or fabrics (as seen in the image below).
I make bibs and burp pads (and sometimes blankets) for charity, and I like to include a matching tactile toy of some kind. I used the modified pattern to create a little Ribbon Bear and the bottom half was made from the small scrap of matching fabric that I had. It turned out really cute, imo. I usually like to include "crinkle", but I got so wrapped up in how cute the little bear was turning out, that I completely forgot to insert the "crinkle". :-) I'm looking forward to making a little beige bear with a blue bow and ribbons that have animals or trucks on them. I can picture SO many possibilities for this pattern... I know I'm going to enjoy it, and I hope you will, too.
